The inspiration for buying my first canvas in 2015 was a haunting photograph taken during the protests in Ferguson in the US over police brutality towards African Americans. The face of the woman in the photo said so much and I had no way of expressing how she made me feel - and I wanted to somehow say something in support. Something deep inside said paint what you see and feel in the subject, and in yourself. So I did. And it hasn’t stopped.
(She's the small painting in the middle of this photo of my studio.)
In the last five years I have built a body of work, mostly in oil on canvas, exclusively in portraiture. Do please contact me if you're interested in discussing a portrait you'd like me to paint.
